On Following the Sunnah
I've been thinking about what it means to follow the sunnah of the Prophet. I don't believe that simply growing a beard or eating with a certain hand is truly following the sunnah. This is the superficial, that many have made important.
Personally I think following the sunnah is how we act in our daily lives. It's so easy to walk past someone who needs help, a person who has fallen, a person who is sick, or someone who is homeless. It is in these moments I think we can truly follow the sunnah of the Prophet. It is in these moments we should think, "What would our Prophet do?" and then we can truly be our best.
Even the way we speak to others, we will always have disagreements but how do we conduct ourselves when we do disagree. The Prophet Muhammad said, "The strongest among you is he who controls his anger," something which many, including me, find difficult to do.
So move the superficial things to the background, the beard, the type of clothes you wear, or which hand you eat your foo
